Mike shares his story
“My mind is so much clearer and sharper.”
Mike, 66
Retired Soft Drink Sales Manager
Mike is a friendly outgoing guy who retired from his sales management job for a worldwide soft drink company. Mike’s primary responsibility was to make sure thirsty customers could find it just about anywhere in Georgia.
For more than 20 years until his retirement four years ago that’s what Mike did and thirsty customers all over Georgia can thank the guy for seeing that this world-famous soft drink was waiting for them on grocery shelves and in coolers right there in the Peach State.
“My main account responsibility was the Atlanta market and then grocery stores in smaller markets across Georgia, some as far east as Savannah. Sometimes I would go into Alabama if they needed some help over there,” Mike explains.
“I would also set up new accounts like gas stations and things like race tracks and big box stores. I would set them up and get them going and then the sales people would take over after that,” he adds.
The job kept him on the road a lot “So yeah, I know where all the highways are,” he says with a smile in his voice.
These days Mike and his wife are enjoying life in the town of Powder Springs northwest of Atlanta. The 66-year-old retiree says, “I go to the gym several times a week and stay active, going places with my wife and eating a healthy diet.”
He continues, “I work part-time at the local hospital as a driver for the nurses. I pick them up in the parking lot when they get out of their car so they don't have to make that long walk to the hospital.”
As someone whose career constantly put him in touch with a seemingly endless variety of customers, Mike comments, “You have to keep an open mind and everybody's got a different story. So I like to hear different things from time to time. I like meeting new people and staying busy.”
“I like to watch sports and I like good movies,” he adds, “and you know, I like politics. I like to keep up with that. I like to know what the politicians are talking about to get an idea of who to vote for.”
Several months ago well into his retirement, Mike began to notice that he was experiencing mild memory issues. “I just had issues remembering things.” He says he noticed the Prevagen commercials on TV and his sister also suggested he try the product.
“I've been on it for three months, and I'm just telling everybody that I know how wonderful it is. I mean, my mind is so much clearer and sharper,” Mike reports.
For a guy like Mike, a better memory is probably as refreshing as one of the cold drinks he used to sell.
