Stuart shares his story

When you have an opportunity to speak with Stuart, it doesn’t take long to realize you’re chatting with someone who has a well-organized mind and the ability to express himself clearly. 

That’s no surprise, given that this pastor, teacher and author holds a doctorate in organizational leadership and spends a lot of his time sharing his thoughts with others.

“I teach the Bible, and I teach leadership theories, principles and organizational behaviors. And so I do a lot of writing and teaching,” says this 57-year-old man of faith.

Now engaged in an on-going process of establishing a new church (he prefers to refer to the process as “planting” the new place of worship), Stuart and his wife are currently living in the old California community of Valley Center in the northern reaches of San Diego County.  

Stuart and his wife moved to Valley Center from the Montana countryside around Flathead Lake before planting their own roots in the landscape of southern California.  All along the pathway of his life, Stuart explains, he’s been guided by a principal he articulates with characteristic clarity.

“I’ve found that when I think about God first and others first, then the rest of my life goes better,” he says.

            He also approaches the maintenance of a balanced and healthy lifestyle with the same sort of easily understood point of view.  “I am careful about a diet, but I don't try to go too far,” he explains.  “So I watch my diet and I do exercise as well, mainly walking and weightlifting. I enjoy being outdoors, hiking and hunting and some other activities.”

            A few years ago, when Stuart was in the final stages of earning his doctorate he said he realized he could use some help staying sharp. “I was in the tail-end of my Ph.D. studies in organizational leadership and finishing up the classes ,” he says. As he prepared for his exams, Stuart noticed a Prevagen commercial on TV.  “I thought okay, that sounds real.”

            After earning his doctorate and following his life’s work of preaching and teaching, he found that Prevagen continues to help him. “I would just say that as a person who needs to speak with expertise on subject matter and do that extemporaneously, I need confidence. Because I feel like I’m staying sharp, I feel that confidence. I think that Prevagen can be a great help.”
