Lin shares her story
“I have honestly been shocked at how well Prevagen is working.”
Lin, 72
Retired Interior Designer
Lin is a 72-year-old great-grandmother living in the Washington community of Lakewood, not far from the beautiful waters of Puget Sound. She looks back over a long and successful career as an interior designer, a life that’s been full of many rewarding achievements as well as difficulties and challenges she’s had to face along the way. Her story is all about moving on from a successful past to a life that’s every bit as rewarding.
“I was an interior designer for 35 years in Southern California,” Lin begins her story. “I owned three stores, employed as many as 15 or 16 people at a time and was very successful. I won several awards for my design work and was selected years ago to be on a home designer television program. It was a lot of fun to experience that.”
“I loved my home state, but I moved to Texas for my husband’s work in 2007 and kind of retired,” Lin says.
After the death of her husband, she left her adopted state of Texas and relocated to Lakewood to be close to one of her sons as well as the therapeutic benefits of living near the ocean. But she didn’t stop living her life, she met, fell in love with and married a fellow she calls “a wonderful Washingtonian” and started a whole new chapter, including serving as a mentor to an organization helping mothers of pre-school children.
“I work in the ministry in our church as a mentor to these new moms,” Lin says. “We meet at a church every other week and I have the responsibility of interacting with a group of younger women. We're hearing their highs and lows, what's going on. So, every couple of weeks I'm at a table with all young women all new moms, and I'm writing down their prayer requests.
“Keeping up with the details around all of that, I sometimes didn’t feel as sharp. I got to the point where I wondered if taking a memory enhancing product would improve my memory.
“So I started using Prevagen about six or seven months ago. And I have honestly been shocked at how well it is working. It's not that my memory is perfect. But I've found even when I'm meeting you know, eight new women, all of a sudden, I feel much sharper and more confident.”
There are other remarkable parts in Lin’s life story, but how this Seventy Something great-grandmother found a way to continue on in helping struggling young moms she’s volunteered to help just might be the most remarkable of all.
