Ingredients
- 6 tbsp marinara sauce
- 1 lb lean ground turkey
- 2 tbsp grated low-fat Parmesan
- 1 clove minced garlic
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1/4 tsp dried thyme
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/8 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 tsp olive oil
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella
- 4 whole wheat buns
- Fresh basil leaves
Cooking Instructions
- Combine 2 tbsp marinara, turkey, Parmesan, garlic, red pepper, thyme, oregano, black pepper, and salt in a bowl
- Divide turkey mix into four burger patties
- Heat olive oil in a skillet on medium-high heat
- Add the burgers, cook for about 5 minutes, then flip and cook for another 5 minutes
- Add shredded mozzarella to burgers, cover, and cook for about a minute until melted
- Place burgers on toasted buns
- Top burgers with marinara sauce and basil leaves and serve
