Patriot Education Fund
We are all acutely aware of the sacrifices made by our military service members since 9/11 to the present day.
John Sims, a current scholar supported by the Patriot Education Fund, grew up in Evergreen Park, Illinois. After graduating high school in 2012, John enlisted in the Army and was deployed three times to Afghanistan and participated in numerous Special Operations as a member of the 75th Ranger Regiment. Upon returning home, John decided to pursue a degree in Political Science at Columbia University with the ultimate goal of joining the ranks of the FBI. John’s dream of serving his country once again was about to be derailed since over $15,000 (annually) was not going to be covered by the GI Bill. As a full-time student, John did not have the resources for the $60,000 in additional tuition coverage and would have taken additional student loans.
Thankfully, John applied for a scholarship from the Patriot Education Fund! The Patriot Education Fund scholarship program is for Post-9/11 era veterans, as well as their spouses and dependents to support the completion of postsecondary education at an accredited U.S. college or university.
The Patriot Education Fund wants to ensure that GI Bill funding limitations would not prevent our veterans and military family members from reaching their goals.
